Hiking and Horseback Riding through the Canyon

Today was a fun, full, beautiful and tiring day through Zion. We kicked off with an enjoyable hike to the Lower Emerald Pools -- magnificent pools that collect as water falls down the sandstone canyon. The hike took us through the canyon then under the water as it tumbled and sprayed down. Next was a horseback ride -- heading south, just past the Three Patriarchs (named after -- you guessed it, the three biblical patriarchs, but not as prominent as Mt. Maroni -- this being Mormon territory after all). Tons of beautiful pictures -- many even taken from atop Betty the horse. (as always, check out today's pictures)

Tomorrow morning we head to Bryce. More from there.
